The steel truss bridge is a type of bridge that utilizes a framework of steel trusses to support the bridge deck. Trusses are structural elements consisting of interconnected bars or beams arranged in a triangular pattern, which provides excellent strength and stiffness. Steel truss bridges are popular due to their strength, durability, and versatility.

According to the different position of the bridge floor, it is divided into:

• Upper bearing steel truss bridge (bridge floor located in the upper part of the main truss)
• Lower bearing steel truss bridge (bridge floor located in the lower part of the main truss)

Main girder: The main load-bearing structure that bears vertical loads. Composed of upper chord, lower chord and belly rod (divided into diagonal bar and vertical bar). Nodes are divided into large nodes and small nodes.

Bracing:

• Classification: longitudinal connection and horizontal connection
• Function: Connect the main truss to form a stable space structure
• Longitudinal connection system withstands transverse horizontal loads
• Transverse connection increases torsional stiffness of steel girder

Bridge deck system: Composed of longitudinal beam, beam and connections. Load transmission: from longitudinal beam to beam to main truss.

Bridge deck: The part for vehicles and pedestrians with similar form to steel beam bridges.

Triangular truss: Simple structure, easy to install and manufacture.

Diagonal bar truss: Many bar specifications with large internal force of the vertical rod.

K-shaped truss: Shear force borne by two diagonal rods, suitable for small to medium spans.

Double-vented bar truss: Used for large spans with short compression inclined rods favorable for buckling stability.
